Marureen's course on strategies for teaching summarizing and main idea was terrific. I can't wait to use (and teach) these skills at school this fall. What a fabulous resource.

Excellent course. Lots of practical information and food for though to help me revise and refine what I have been doing in both areas--main idea and summarizing. Suggestions should help me get some better outcomes for those students who think they need to include everything.

Great strategies and information, as well as delineation of differences between main idea, summarizing, and story retell. Also appreciated explanations for justifications of addressing these skills as well as the reason to start with pictures, texts, and explicity stated main idea.
